Hopefully someone can help me out.

Question 21 of the SF-86 is "In the last 7 years, have you consulted with a mental health professional (psychiatrist, psychologist, counselor, etc.) or have you consulted with another health care provider about a mental health related condition?".

My situation is that approx. 6 years ago my mother consulted with a physician and set me up to to talk with a psychologist. She did this because she believed we had a bad relationship with each other, so it was essentially for 'family' issues.

So, do I answer "Yes" or "No" on this question?

Here's why I'm confused:

1) I looked up the exact definition of consult, and it is "to seek advice or information of". By that definition I didn't consult anyone myself - it was my mother.

2) Upon initial reading I understood this question as requiring the consultation be related to "a mental health ... condition" (and it's not - it was a family issue). After analyzing it some more, it could also be asking for all consultations with a mental health professional.

Couldn't find any related information on google or here. If anyone can help clarify I'll appreciate it. Thanks!
