What is the name of your state Oklahoma. Actually the deceased lived in KS but he owned three small lots in OK. A KS lawyer has already taken care of the Kansas estate and it is finalized. We wanted the lots in OK that were left to my husband, per his father's will, put in my husband's name. The courthouse in OK said he needed a "final decree" and that paperwork from KS wouldn't do, that the will needed to be filed in OK. Can we just take the will and all the final paperwork from Kansas and file it in OK for that property ourselves? The will is very specific and there are no other family members to contest it. We are hoping to do this ourselves and save some $$ as we already spent a bunch on the KS lawyer.
Thanks!

Petition for Probate of Foreign Will

Thank you for your assistance. I have read the article you provided. I believe we have what is necessary except for the "petition for probate of foreign will". Is this a document the court clerk provides or do I need to bring it already prepared. If so, can I obtain one?
