What is the name of your state? CA
I am a disabled single mother of 2 young children. I was recently investigated by CPS, and had my kids taken from me. We have been staying at a motel, since the eviction from our home a month ago.
Briefly, in the report, the CPS worker makes me out to be neglectful, and too unfit to care for my children. Her allegations are extremely exaggerated and unfairly interpreted so that they can be reasons bad enough to warrant removing my children. Examples: The room only has one bed, so she says that's not enough room; we have 2 large plastic totes holding some of our belongings located behind the door to our room ( the door opens enough for my wheelchair to fit through) and she claims they are "blocking" access to the room; 3 hours before she arrived we had brought lunch from the burger place back to the room to eat, and my daughter had removed her pickles, onions, and top part of bun from her burger (as she always will) and through them in the wastebasket , atop of an empty peanut butter jar w/o the lid, only to have the CPS worker claim there was rotten food in the trash; she always reports prescription drugs were found in a backpack on the floor beside the bed which the kids could have gotten into, when the fact is that yes my prescription bottles (3) were in my purse beside the bed but are safety capped and can't be opened by my children; there are so many more I could list but want to post this a.s.a.p. I want to mention also that as she went about the room finding her proof, she would take things out of the desk drawer, mess up papers that were neatly stacked, dig underneath our clothes etc. leaving the whole room looking like a disaster area and then claims that it looked that way when she arrived on the scene!
Also, When they told my 5 year daughter that she was leaving with her to live, and Mommy wasn't going to be able to talk to them for awhile, my daughter grabbed up her doll baby and began poking at it, rather hard with a straw, over and over crying and screaming that she didn't want to go, and "bad baby, bad doll baby!" So that sounds pretty bad too.
Please help me anyone....What I need is every bit of information, and advice, and referrals etc. I can get my hands on to be able to discredit her and prove to the judge that I am not the neglectful, unfit mom that this worker made me out to be.
