What is the name of your state? IL

I have signed a lease to rent the back portion of someone's (for this sake "Joe") building. I signed this lease with two other people (for this sake "Chris" and "Sean"). Due to our work schedules, "Chris" would be there six months a year and "Sean" and I would be there the opposite six months. This lease was signed in January LEASOR: "JOE" LEASEE: "Chris", "Sean", and myself. In January, "Chris" decided that he would pay "Joe" our rent and pay the utilities and "Sean" and myself would pay him the rent plus $250. Since I just needed a place to live (I am from Michigan and started work two days later in IL), i said fine (over the phone). Now that I have moved back in for my next 3 month stint, "Sean" and I decided that I would continue to pay "Chris" our rent, especially since "Chris" had already payed "Joe." However, we thought we would just pay the bills as they came. The bills come to the shared, rental space so "Sean" and I paying it would be quicker, easier, and not to mention a whole lot cheaper for "Sean" and I. (All of the utilities and bills add up to only $100-150/month [no a/c, no cable, no internet bills] not $250!)

"Chris" has called my cell phone and left a voicemail stating "I have no problem kicking you guys out" I talked to "Joe" (our "landlord") and he agreed with "Sean" and I that "Chris" was trying to pull a fast one on us.

Does "Chris" have any right to threaten that? I feel "Sean" and I are in the right here. Please hurry he has left three voicemails this afternoon alone!

No he cannot kick you out. Your lease is with the landlord not with him.
