What is the name of your state? oregon.....someone i know is off work from a mental breakdown caused by many reasons i cannot go into detail about...she has been off work for a month now and will try to go back to work part time so she can deal with her emotional issues with proffesional help..can she get a reduction on her child support while she is unable to work full time because she is unable to cope with anything right now...she is going to attempt to go back to work part time but i dont even know if she will suffer another breakdown again...her ex will fight her on this but i still think she should take care of herself even if it means she cant make enough to pay the current child support due....not knowing how long it will be before she is back to work like normal, would the state of oregon grant her only a temporary child support reduction until her doctor states it is ok for her to return to work full time?

She is still obligated to pay her full child support. She can ask the courts or the DA Family law division for a modification, but if she is expected to go back to work soon, they will not grant it. She must have an income while she is off of work, unemployment or workers comp. They will take the $$ owed out of that, until she is working again.
