What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?Louisiana
I am a Hurricane Katrina victim. I have Allstate a/k/a Allsnake. I have 2 claims, H.O. and Flood (National Flood Ins. Program). I met w/my H.O. adjuster on 9/9/05 and flood on 9/11/05. Called Allstate every week since the middle of Sept. I was finally told by the 800-54-Storm people (which I later determined was temps. answering the phone) not to call back. We still to this day have not rec'd any paperwork from Allstate. Our claims have been processed, per the adjuster's, but the checks have not been written as of today 10/5/05. I am at my wits end. I am attempting to find some information as to consumer's rights in regards to proper timely payments of valid/validated claims. I have never made a claim and at this point, I probably never will. However, I have roof damage, damage to my kitchen and still no refrigerator, due to me having to put my extra funds towards a new central air unit. I need some help here! I am considering legal action against Allstate due to their untimely payment of proper claims as well as my consumer rights being violated. Any advice would greatly be appreicated!

Are you dealing with Allstate directly or through an Allstate agent?

Actually, I'm dealing with both 800-54-storm and my agent. At first, the 54 storm number told me that my agent could give me a check. That was false. since then my insurance agen't assistant has been handling. Per her on this past Thurs. 11/3, she cannot even get an answer for her questions of our claim. All she said was that she is sending several emails out and will let us know some news when she learns of the news.

I hope you get the money that you need and that it covers the damages. I have friends in Pensacola that are still arguing with insurance adjusters over who will pay what and Ivan hit almost 14 months ago!
