I live in student housing (apartments that college kids tend to rent) and I was just fined $50 for having a keg on my pourch. My lease says that we can't have trash or "unsightly or heavy items", but a sheet they handed me after I complianed about the fine (not the lease it self) says that we can't store kegs out side on the patio. Now I am not sure if the sheet is legal binding or not, but when I told them the lease never mentioned kegs they responded with, "it is trash". So do I have a legal leg to stand on?

P.S.(The keg was empty and was there for workout purposes, if that means anything)

Keg is unsightly, heavy item. Lease does not have to spell out everything that is NOT allowed and lease wording certainly describes the keg situation. Why would you think that weight lifting items would be appropriate for a PORCH? Put them in the apartment or in your room. Empty key is TRASH - return it for deposit or remove as trash.
