What is the name of your state? California

My uncle purchased some property in Whitewater, CA about 2 years ago. He signed some sort of land contract with the owner that said that he would pay him roughly 100,000 dollars at 600 dollars a month tax free for this property. This contract was then transferred over to my mother, who now pays the owner the monthly payments. The problem that we are having is that the property has appreciated greatly and now the original owner wants to take the property back. The home was built in the mid 40's, and according to him, the contract is no good because the home was not in a "sellable condition" because of the septic tank not being to code. My mother is stressed out and can not afford to pay a lawyer every time this guy threatens her. My question is do we have a leg to stand on? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the lack of details. I havent actually seen the contract myself. What is the name of your state?

On what?? You didn't even state what your case was... only that the seller apparently intends to renege on his agreement.

The ONLY way to get an accurate response is to take the contract to a local attorney who can read it, in its entirety, and advise as to what options might be available.
