What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Maryland

The property management company connected to the HOA over the condo I'm leasing out has a list of things they require when I have a new tenant. I learned that they require everything at once however I'd already send a check for the move-in fee and copy of the lease with a note indicating the rest was enroute. They returned the copy of the lease but not the check which hasn't been cashed. It's not a good relationship as they're pretty much jerks to anyone that leases out so I'm concerned that if I mention they didn't return the check with the lease so I can send it all together as requested, they'll say they never got the check. Is there a nice way to handle this? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

forgot a response.....motion for extension to time to file a response (not answer) to the complaint .... if you want a SOL defense, it may be helpful to start discovery & ask for ext. of time to respond ...

Why don't you issue a stop payment with the bank, and issue a new check? Inform the hoa of this when you send all documents and new check together.
