What is the name of your state? Pennsylvania
I was buying a boat and made payments on it for 3 years. Two years ago i ran into a money problem and it was repossed. It was sold by the bank for a lot less than was owed. Now 2 years latter they are filling a law suit to collect the ballance they say is owed. If a judgement is made against me in court what can happen. Can they sell my possesions, put a lean on my home. Can you let me no what to expect? Thank you. PS. Should i get a lawyer?

they cannot put a lien on your home

They cannot put a lien on your home, but they can get a judgment against you, therefore, you will not be able to sell your home unless all your judgments are paid off. I would negotiate with them or hire an attorney to do so. But the last thing you want is a judgment granted against you.

Did they provide advance notice to you of the sale? How did they go about conducting the sale?

There may be Article 9 defenses available to you if they failed to give you proper advance notice of the sale or if they conducted the sale in a commercially unreasonable manner. Like the man said, you may want to get a lawyer, at least if you are looking at a judgment for more than $2,500. Otherwise, cost issues may justify answering on your own.
