What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Pennsylvania

My daughter was arrested in Lancaster, PA for forgery and conspiracy. She stole checks from several people and cashed them for several thousands of dollars. She is a drug addict, heroin, crystal meth, etc. I live in Mississippi and she has been living in PA with a boyfriend. Her bond was set at $25,000.00 per charge. No bailbonding agency will bond her out because they say she has no family or address in Pa, she is a flight risk. I am wondering if she is convicted of these charges, what is the usual length of the sentence.

Thanks

Give us the number and statute numbers of the charges.

I can tell you that numerous years in a state facility is not beyond the realm of possibility.

First time arrested? The PA sentencing guidelines is a big table that depends on priors and other factors. I guarantee the MINIMUM she is getting is several years worth of probation, but I also guarantee that the chances are strong that the DA is going to recommend incarceration (and no less than a year per charge I would envision).
Even if probation is on the table, there's going to be a presentence investigation after she is found guilty and before sentencing. In the best cases they'll let you phone in probation until after they arrange for the homestate probation department to accept her, but her history works against her. It's entirely at the discretion of both state's probation departments.

Absent the details on the case, we can't venture a guess. She is in definite need of an attorney on this one if there is any chance of mitigating things.
