Reguarding the state of: New York

Hello, I've been to many sites looking for help and I've been nothing but put down. My mother abandoned me a year ago on my 16th birthday. I since, have been living on my own. I will be turning 17 here, shortly. I was just curious as to what sort of actions I can take as a minor (providing I can), and how to go about it.
