Short of giving you a complete law course in defensive strategies (which is far beyond the scope of this forum), I offer the following:
1) Go to your local library or bookstore and find everything you can on lawsuits and how they work, what to do and what not to do.
2) As for "what should i carry to court with me?", the answer is EVERYTHING. Take all documents and records that can support your case, or be used to defend your position against claims made by "them".
