What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Minnesota

My ex-boyfriend and I purchased a house over the summer. We have since broken up and I am moving out. He was supposed to have the house refinanced by 2/1 but the refinance 'fell through'. I have a new place to go and was planning on signing the title over to him, but want to know if there is any way to force my name off of the mortgage since he's not doing anything. I am worried about him ruining my credit out of spite. Please help!!

**A: do not sign anything except hire an attorney to file partition.

Is there any way to file a partition without hiring a lawyer? I am a single parent and don't have the extra cash. If it can be done without a lawyer, is it a complicated process?

A: No, this is a very complicated procedure.

Call them and ask them about a pro bono (free) lawyer.

If the land has any equity in it (i.e., it is worth more than y'all owe on it) a lawyer would be happy to take it because he can get his money at the auction.

Besides, once a lawyer sends a letter about partition to bad person, he will find refinancing real quick!
