Well my Ex had just filed for sole custody of my son that is 12. and he only wants me to have supervised visitation rights. He has live in girlfriend and now they think they can take care of him but they dont want me to be able to have my input. The father right now gets his son every weekend and every sunday his ships him off to a friends house til i pick him up. They really dont spend time with the kid. They told him about 2 months ago he had to make a choice of where he wanted to live . Well my son didnt make the choice so the ex and the girlfriend are taking me to court. They keep saying that the kid is tramatized. Of course he is and they blame that on me they even got a court order for him to go to counseling. Well Hope they will be able to handle what comes out of this because they dont look at what they have been doing to my son they are sure it is me . Also we have joint custody right now . I dont know what right He has by giving the school permission to give the girlfriend any info she wants regarding my son. She not his parent and he didnt get an agreement from me to let her. can he do this do you know. theres lots more to this case its just starting. life has been pure hell lately but i wont laid down on this one .he has a fight on his hand . i only want what is best for my son. thank

just to elaborate on LdiL's response, the guardian ad litem will represent your son, not you or dad, he will talk to you and dad, likely also to talk to dad's gf, bassed on a lot of factors; where the child wants to live, where the child has been living, which parent is less likely to interfere with the child's relationship with the other parent, livng arrangements, etc, the guardin ad litem will then make a recommendation to the judge based on what he thinks is in the childs best interests.

Judges almost always follow the GAL recommendations.
