My stepdaughter is here with my husband and I for the weekend. He has Temp. Joint/ legal custody with the mom. The child is actually living with the grandparents but they have not legal rights to her. What I need help with is that my SD has been showing signs of sexual misconduct and telling in detail what she and some other little girls have been doing.."playing nasty ugly games" as she puts it. She has told us that one thing they do is take off thier underware and kiss each other all over. I did make a Hot line call. Was that the right thing to do? Also, we are to have my SD back at home tomorrow night. Can my husband keep her till monday and file a emergancy temp custody order? Can my husband get arrested for keeping her? The hot line ppl couldn't really tell us what to do about that. They said it was up to us on what we felt like doing. Please help!!! TIA

How old is the child ?

If she is young 3 or 4 , it's normal for children of that age to " experiment ".

They see all these sex scenes on TV , so you'd be hard pressed to prove it's being done by adults in the home.

At that age , you just talk to the children about the inappropriateness of it at their age . ( not scold them that it's bad ) .

If the child is older then there would be reason for concern .

Buy the way , have you asked the child where she " Learned " this behavior from ?

As the hotline told you , once you have determined what's going on , then you decide what actions to take .

If the kid states adults are molesting her , then report it to the Police , and get an Emergency order .

She is 7 and some of the other girls she has been playing this game with are
10 and 12 years old. She did say that one time they had played with a boy and I asked her if this boy was her age and she said no he was a bigger boy.

In what state do you live?

How older of a Boy ?

I'm not sure how young/old children have to be ( both boys & Girls ) , to be charged with inappropriate sexual conduct on a minor , but I know of a 14 yr. old having 6 months probation & therapy as a sex offender , just for sitting a 3 yr. old on his lap and touching in the private area with their cloths on in a teen center .

Why the attendant of the teen Center had his 3 yr. old girl there is behind me . It happened when he wasn't watching his child .

FYI .

The grandparents have not legal right to the child what so ever. The mom gave the child to them instead of the dad. They pay for her lawyer since they want the child and that way the BM lets them keep her.
