I am a 22 yr old mother of a soon to be 7 yr old, who is in custody of her father. He has been refusing to let me see her, although he allows my drunk mother to see her once a week. I call my child every night when possible, if not I talk to her at least 3-4 times aweek. I just need some advice on persueing this to where I can see her at least 2 days aweek, if there is anyone out there that can help me please respond. Thank you:(

Call the court house in the city or county where your child resides. Ask them what exactly you need to do in order to file for joint custody/ visitation. You may need his birth certificate and other documentation. They should help you out though. And make sure that you document everything. HAve you already gone for a custody hearing? You said that he has custody of your child. Is that through the courts? If so, why did you wait to file for visitation? Good Luck
