My response:

Sorry. We only make suggestions concerning American Law. Please see an attorney for advice on your subject.

As an a side note, if you were in the United States, the answer would be "No", unless the parents allowed such visitation. But, the law may be wholly different in Canada.

Canadian law is actually very interesting in that it has few of it's own.

1. 48% of laws are directly from the US, i.e.,
"All vehicles must drive on the right side of the road"
"Can not kill a Politician on the 3rd Sunday of April"
"Illegal to ride an ugly horse” etc.. actually I think that last one should be “wife”.

2. 48% are from England, i.e.,
“The touching of guns are forbidden, if you point a gun at our police, we will hit you with a short stick”
“It is legal for a male to urinate in public, as long it is on the rear wheel of his motor vehicle and his right hand is on the vehicle”
“It is also legal for a women to urinate on the same wheel providing she has both hands on the vehicle at all times”
“You can only shoot a Welsh person with a bow and arrow inside the city walls and after midnight” (This was changed in England in 1994 to state, “You can shoot a Welsh Person”.)

3. 2% Viking laws are in there somewhere, i.e.,
"Can't park your longboat in any government parking areas".
“All oars must be securely stored before pillaging a village”.

4. 1% are pure Canadian, i.e.,
"Hunters can not have sex with a Moose under 3 months or during labor",
"It is illegal to jump from a flying airplane without being equipped with a proper life saving apparatus" (Apparently no one has ever been successfully tried on that one!)
“There shall be a ‘day’ called ‘Canada’ to remind the people of the name of the country”

“ ‘Thanksgiving Day’ will be to give thanks for someone getting better. It will be in October. No, make it November. It will be on a Thursday, mmmm ok, Monday, no Thursday, ok ok, Monday. We shall call it ‘Armistice Day’… mmm hard to pronounce, make it ‘Remembrance Day’. We are sure everyone can remember that. Oh what the hell, lets have two holidays, ‘Remembrance Day’ and ‘Thanksgiving Day’. RD can be in November and TG in October. “

5. 1% are French, i.e.
“no pig may be addressed as Napoleon by its owner”
“In the face of the enermy, you must run away really quickly”
“Waterloo did not happen, OK?!!”

LegalBeagle, did you read the rules of the forum when you signed up? Just in case you didn't here they are, take point to the "you agree that you will NOT post any abusive, hateful messages" What you wrote looks like an abusive and hateful post! Just because not everyone is as all mighty as you are doesn't give you the right to put others down! You should think about other people's feeling before you start to type!!

You agree that you will NOT use the FreeAdvice Forum to post any advertisement, chain letter, solicitation or other commercial message. You agree that you will NOT post any knowingly false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, or threatening message, or material that is invasive of another person's privacy. My response:

Biomom, what bug crawled up your ass ?

There was NOTHING in LegalBeagle's post that could even remotely be deemed "abusive" or "hateful". It was obviously a joke, a bit of levity. It even put a smile on my face, and was highly imaginative.

I dare you to quote anything from his post that would or could be defined as abusive or hateful.

I would stack LegalBeagle's wonderful, and nearly 4,200 responses against your 1 post ANY day of the week.

For example, calling someone a complete and utter "ass" is abusive and / or hateful. So, if the shoe fits . . .

If you are THAT thin-skinned, I would suggest that you stay off the Boards, and get some "shrink-wrap" help.

I disagree.

The French were created to be put down, that is why they were allowed to move to Quebec.
The Canadians were given true independance during the US great depression so as to give us a laugh.
The Vikings were created so as to make Kirk Douglas a god,
and of course, the English were created to show us all how the mighty do fall.

I am mighty, I have the power..

unfortunately, I am NOT powerful enough to give you a sense of humor..

I have a sense of humor thank you, I find nothing funny about putting people down. But if you feel the need to do that to make yourself feel important by all means go right ahead. I have a sense of being and am very comfortable with myself that I don't need to cut people down so I can feel higher up. If that's what you need to get you through.....

No, you do not have a sense of humor. Like to point out the lines where I put 'people' down? Most of the laws I quoted are actual laws. You also are far from 'being comfortable' with yourself.

You really are one sick puppy.. I hope you get help soon, I really do..

Good Luck with the treatment!

You don't have a need to put others down?? Lady, you've posted twice on this thread, both times putting down a man who has given countless hours of his time and legal knowledge to help others.

You are obviously a disgrunted member who received some responses you didn't like under another name, then decided to come back and attack as "Biomom".

And . . . you'll have to post a "funny" yourself before I could ever believe you have a sense of humor!

If you do have a sense of humor, where did you leave it ?Just don't ever let us catch you watching the "Tonight Show" with Jay Leno, lady. Just what IS your major malfunction in life ?

And why can't you quote the EXACT phrase or word that LegalBeagle used that YOU find so damned offensive - - or are you THAT cramped ?

You really have a major stick up your ass. Here, let me shove it up a little more . . .

Wow!! Talk about ultra-sensitive. This is the type of person, who, if told they are looking pretty today, would probably file a sexual harrassment suit rather than take the compliment.
Don't you just *hate* when people don't understand intelligent humor?
Legal Beagle, Thanks for the laugh.
I was wondering if perhaps you might have overlooked a law in Canada about using "eh" at the end of a statement, question, sentence, etc.? Surely, there must be one?

You know, I was thinking the same.. I noticed the guardianship thread has been deleted and she posted to this thread at roughly the same time.. Whatever her reason, since she is unable to backup her statements, then we see her for what she is..

and I liked IAAL suggestion..

I thought people come here to get legal advice, nothing that LeagalBeagle posted has anything to do with what was asked, all I saw where jokes regarding Canada in this thread. If you want to post jokes then you should find a forum for the purpose. And no I have not posted here, I came here looking for some leagal advice but I see this is not the place to do so. I have read some of the posts from LeagalBeagle and alot of them are put downs or jokes, people come to the FreeAdvice Legal board just for that reason not to get laughed at. You should remember the reason for this board and be more respectful of other people.

i certainly never thought I would be posting anything on this site again, but I did come back to it out of curiosity, and decided I should clear something up. I am the person who posted the question on guardianship. I am also the person who deleted that thread after I realized the site was not what I thought it was. I certainly am not going to waste any more of my time explaining my situation to you, but I assure you that you were both wrong in the assumptions you made about my situation. I love my child very much and this is not about my husband and him. What I am doing for my son is in his best interest.Biomom, I apologize for the mixup. They apparently thought you and I were one in the same.
