how long ago was that felony convicted? is she still on probation? what was the exact charge/s?

the fellony was 12 years ago and she served her probation and did community service. the charge was distrabution of look a like substance. both birth parents are willing to sign over all rights to my sister. it would be a private adoption. if someone could reply a.s.a.p. it would be appreciated

They all need to be consulting with an attorney - sometimes an older felony charge won't hinder the prospective parent, but sometimes it will prevent them from adopting.

Home Study

it is more likely than not that a home study would be ordered...tell your sister to be honest about everything and tell the social worker what she learned from that mistake and how it can help her be a better parent.
