My ex is going to Iraq on active duty. I need to move home with parents but ex is wanting sister to have child custody. As natural parent how do I get sole legal custody while ex is away? Have joint now.

If you have joint custody then your ex has no say about who has the child while he is in Iraq. That person is you, automatically. He can't give custody to his sister.
