What is the name of your state? Maryland
My tenants have apparently upset more than one neighbor at my rental property. I received an anonymous letter yesterday from concerned residents of the community regarding several issues - the lawn in the backyard has not been cut in god knows how long, it's apparently up to the fence (waist-level), the police tagged one of their vehicles (not sure if it's on the street or driveway) then removed their tags due to them being expired and then there is the non-stop barking dog issue. I have warned my tenants before, last year in fact, about the lawn and that it must be maintained due to the community association. Apparently nothing has been done and now the neighbors are looking to me to handle this as the landlord, which I fully intend to rectify. In my lease it states that if any provisions contained in the lease are violated, this is cause for termination of said lease. I have provisions in the lease for the yard and vehicles and to adhere to the guidelines of the community and county regarding nuisance animals.
What are my options here? The angry neighbors are threatening to contact animal control and the county. Are these grounds enough to evict them?
Now I can't get ahold of my tenants either.... GRRRRRRRRRRR.
Thanks for the input - this is my 1st go at being a landlady.
