What is the name of your state? FL

Our neighbor dug up our lawn and planted bushes on our side of the property line without our knowledge, permission, or authorization. The length is about 40 feet and the number of bushes approximately 20. We have a survey that confirms the location of property line and the bushes are clearly on our side by 2 to 3 feet. The neighbor_s side walk runs parallel right up to the property line. I realize that since this does not involve a structure this is not an encroachment. However, the neighbor did have to trespass to have the bushes planted. What are our options at this point? And what are the sequences of steps we need to take? Thank you.

UPDATE:

Not only would have the neighbor trespassed but there would also be property damage because of the removal of the lawn.

I had a similar situation with a neighbor and sent them a "Removal of Debris Notice".
This is something I did on my computer and just sort of made up as I went along.

I had it hand delivered and gave them 72 hours to remove the "debris" or I would have it removed at their expense. I further notified them that in the future, any debris left on my property would be removed without notice. Initially they freaked out and called the police. On the 72nd hour however, they did remove the items. It's worth a try. You could give them more time and send it by certified mail if you want to be real careful about it.

and do you live in Florida?
What would you have done had the neighbor told you to "BITE ROCKS!"?

Simply put, your 'solution' has no meaning in law.

Simply put, you are a blowhard. Have you provided any law that helps the poster address the matter, or do you just get off on being a fingerpointing schoolmarm?

Your LEGAL advice was?

Oh yes, write a letter and hand deliver it.
So tell me, what is this poster going to do when the neighbor thows it back in his face and tells him to "BITE ROCKS"

Either you are a hormonal idiot, or you do not know how to comprehend what you read.
I said "It's worth a try." The mere threat in my case was perfectly legal and it worked.
I also suggested that the poster could send the notice by certified mail. If it doesn't work, the poster could ask an attorney to call and speak with the neighbor. Not everyone can afford to run out and hire an attorney to settle every little squabble that comes their way.
Now quit being such a nasty spankmaster and go pet your rocks.

The poster could also ask Alice, a local psychic or Dr. Phil.

Now, tell this poster what to do if the neighbor tells them to "BITE ROCKS". I'm still waiting.

I already did. You simply can't comprehend what you read. Now go choke on some hemimorphite, skank.

Holly is good for that. Bamboo would be good too.

Have a surveyor set out the property line. Then build a fence (with the proper permits) just in your side of the property line. And thank them for the plants afterward.

Well I haven't seen much help on here yet. Don't want or need a fence. Hope the conversation gets back on track. Thanks.
o.k. You can go to a lawyer and spend a bunch of money from the beginning, or you can attempt to negotiate directly with the neighbors. Have you attempted to resolve this directly with them yet? If so, what was their response?
