I live in a townhome community in Baltimore County, Maryland. We have a gang of teenagers who hang out every day, all day and night, across the street. They play ball in the middle of the street hitting cars and even houses. Sometimes they do not even move when cars are coming. When not outside they are either playing drums for hours or getting high. They have even thrown food at our house. The instigators of all this happen to live right next to me. Their mother is never home so it's party central for all the neighboor-hood-lums. She is in complete denial about the whole situation. I have tried talking to her about my issues but she either doesn't care or doesn't think anything is wrong. I have even called the police over these disturbances and guess what - they haven't done squat. I have been living next to these terrors for close to 10 years now and watched these kids grow up into the most inconsiderate little s***s and every year it gets worse. We can't move because of the economy. What are my rights and how can I get some peace?

There harrassment is almost a daily occurance. I haven't called the police nearly as much as I would like - maybe a handful of times. The police just say something to the fact that they are "not doing anything wrong and they are being kids." If it was just me I would call every day and complain to whoever would listen. But, I live at home with my elderly mother and out of respect for her I try not to be the neighborhood bitch. It is her home and she is afraid of retaliation. Some people are bothered by it and move or for some reason don't speak up and others are oblivious to it. It's disgusting, I didn't move to this area, surrounded by million dollar homes, for this trash.

well, most cities have public nuisance laws, sound limits after specific hours laws, and several other laws that would probably apply here.
after this last post, it sounds like you really don't intend on doing anything even if there were something to do so what are you looking for?

At this point I don't know what I am looking for anymore? It seems like I have tried everything and I have reached my limit. But, maybe I haven't tried hard enough. I guess I will just keep calling the police but apparently they are not doing their job and don't care. Also, I can't find any laws or ordinances (other than noise) for my area pertaining to my situation. Any help?
