Neighbors Poplar tree roots destroying our lawn

Our nieghbors Poplar tree roots our coming up all over our lawn and now they're going down towards the street. We have tried talking to her, but she is an EXTREMELY mean person to ALL in the neighborhood. We have tried shooting poison on each root coming out of the ground, mowing them, pulling them, their only coming back stronger and alot more, everywhere. They are ruining our lawn. We want to sell the house next summer so we want the problem gone before the next people move in. HELP!

Since the trees are sprouting on your side of the property line, they are your problem. However, your neighbor can't interfere with anything you choose to do, as long as you don't cross the property line.

Consult an arborist or the local power company tree-trimming crews. (The crew near me works for Coca-Cola.) Ask them what pesticide will kill a poplar trunk & prevent it from suckering. You may have to pay someone to come over & root prune along the property line, then spray the stumps. You may want to disclose the poplar problem when you sell.
