WE RECENTLY PURCHASED A 3 FAMILY HOME, THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD A DISPUTE WITH ONE OF THE TENNANTS ABOUT NON-PAYMENT OF RENT FOR THREE MONTHS. THE TENNANT REFUSES TO PAY THE RENT UNTIL CERTAIN REPAIRS ARE DONE TO HER APARTMENT. MY QUESTION IS, DOES SHE HAVE THE RIGHT TO JUST WITHHOLD THE RENT FROM US, NOW THAT THE PROBLEM IS IN OUR HANDS? I PROBABLY JUST ANSWERED MY OWN QUESTION. BUT PLEASE REPLY ANYWAY. AND CAN WE APPLY HER LAST AND SECURITY TOWARDS THE LAST TWO MONTHS OF UNPAID RENT?
