Paint is not included when it comes to lemon laws, only safety and vehicle operation. And the fact that the new GTO's are built in Austalia the odds of finding one with perfect paint is slim and none. Who would want to look at a bone stock GTO as a show car anyway? If you want to see a real GTO, come take a look at my 66. It makes the new ones look pretty bad.

Cars do not come off the assembly line in perfect 'show car' condition. If you wanted a perfect show car, you should have inspected it thoroughly before purchasing. I won't even talk about how silly a new GTO is to keep as a show car, that is your choice. Minor defects, scratches, dings, etc. are suppose to be repaired by the dealer. Many times they will not be able to get the paint perfect the first time, but normally can the second or third time. Let them have a chance to repaint and they can probably make it right. Will it match 'Perfect'? Probably not, but they are not required to make it 'show car' perfect. That is not what they sold you.

I'm no car expert....
But i would think that a brand new car off the floor should be in
mint condition. My uncle works for a car dealership & he says the
cars that come from the factories are ridiculously exact as far as
the paints, dings, etc so if anything is wrong with it, 98% of the
time it happened at the dealership -therefore they should give you
a *new* car. Whether or not you chose a certain car as a showroom
piece (that's totally your choice & if it makes you happy go for it :D )
or not, you should be getting what YOU paid for. So if it was supposed
to be new & in immaculate condition, that's what you should get.
So make them replace it!

Some "brand new cars"

You would be surprised at the amount of damage that is often done to a "brand new vehicle" that is on the way from the factory,to a dealer.

A vehicle could be damaged in transport (on the car carrier) or loading /unloading. Often times cars with 2 or three original miles end up in the body shop for repair/refinishing.

Anything from a minor repair of a ding to painting several body panels. If the car was repaired by experts, the repair area would be undetectable by the average person. And certainly would not stick out like a sore thumb to an untrained eye.

........just making conversation :)
