My response:

No. You bought a car.

You're thinking of "Home Solicitation" contracts.

Hello hoff1212

Sad truth is, "I Am Always Liable" is absolutely correct. There is NO cooling off period {72hour rule} for auto sales. This is clearing stated on the purchase contract.

I may stand corrected on the 72 hour rule as it applies to all other forums of contracts but definately not on auto sales.

Home solicitations for services and product sales do allow for a cooling off period because the seller approached you. Not so if the buying party was out looking or shopping with intent to purchase. Intent meaning visiting auto dealers.

It is not customary nor an exceptable reason to say we were just visiting the dealership as a means to withdraw from a contract. It is customary to be shopping for a car granted, but not to be sold one when we didn't intend to buy.
