What is the name of your state? NEW JERSEY
I am wondering if you could verify something for me. I have read the landlord tenant laws for NJ and understand that the landlord must notify tenant in writing within thirty days, the name of bank and address of bank and interest the security deposit account is earning or a tenant may use the security towards rent. I just need to clarify that if they only tell me a bank name (with no account # or address) and only “say” it is earning interest, is this enough to use it as rent? I don’t feel I should have to further ask for the additional information.
