I was promoted into a different department - and in the initial 'welcome to our department - here's your new job title and your new salary - effective April 1st' meeting. A lot of promises were made via word of mouth.
I took over the new position as far as my physical change in daily activity and job responsibilities go - but HR never made a change in my position nor did I ever see a salary increase - becauase they 'said they had to bundle it with reviews. NOW, reviews have been pushed back, and back and back and they are saying that they can't give me retro back to the start of my new position. Is this legal?? (I have been working the new job since April 1st)
Also, they told me I was getting a 20% increase (key word - TOLD) and now they are saying that I'm only getting an 11% increase. They keep referrring to the whole transaction as a review - when essentially my entire job structure has changed!! Can they do this?? So now, I'm short 2 months retro AND 5% review increase AND 9% promotion increase!! What should I do??
