Me again... thanks for previous help, now a new question for you guys. My boyfriend was divorced in Nov. of 2000, in Oklahoma. With tax day looming in the near future, the ex now says she is going to claim "single" on paperwork to receive more of a return. Can she legally do this, and is there a way to stop her? I was under the impression that you claim your status (what you were) for the most part of that tax year, which would make her "married". Thanks again in advance.

Note to IAAL: keep up the "quirky" responses, they make for good reading, and make my day at work go by much faster!
