OK So I get all those annoying e-mails also, IMPROVE YOUR CREDIT NOW, well today I recieved one about getting a new social security number, of course they wan't $40 for their book. Has anyone out there ever heard of this, is it possible to get assigned a new number even if your credit injuries are self inflicted? Please respond if you can help
thank you,
Mike

Your ss# is yours forever. Attempting to get a new one to build a good credit profile is called fraud. Pay $40 to this company and you'll probably recieve an autographed copy of PT Barnum's famous quote.

My response:

Let's look at this logically. If one could change their SS# at will, then there would be no debts, no lawsuits, no collections, and the country would implode from all the debt that is never collected.

We would all, at some point, have chosen to skip our debts or other "bad entries" on our credit reports; e.g., judgments - - but, the reality is, you can't.

These E-Mails are scams. It's a good thing you asked prior to "a fool and his money are soon parted."
