What is the name of your state? TX
We recently purchased a TV from a Seller at e-bay and we sent a money order and the seller claimed that they haven't recieved it, so I received a money order tracer thru western union and it shows that she signed and cashed it in Eureka,MO on 3-8-06. I was unable to stop payment before she cashed it, now I contacted e-bay and they say, try contacting the seller which I tried and she said once she got the payment she send back, but instead she cashed and I still don't have our item. I found out that e-bay either suspended the seller or the seller is no longer a user, they really won't say for sure and the seller doesn't reponsod to me anymore. All I want is my refund of 285.00, I don't trust her anymore and maybe the item comes to me broken. I have all of the e-mails and the copy of the proff of payment. What legal actions can be taken if I have any? Thanks:confused:

This is why you really need to start paying with Paypal, and not buying from people who do not accept it.

Yes, don't purchase from a private party unless you can afford to lose your money.
Also, always pay by credit card!
Oh, and one more...
Don't buy things online at all.

Wait, are you looking for a way to get your money back???
Maybe call the police department in her area and file a report over the telephone (if they let you do that).

Ebay carries a service called Square Trade. You can contact them, they are sort of a mediator for cash transactions. It will cost you $25 of your purchase price if you should win your case with them. They are not highly thought of by anyone, buyer or seller, but it is something you can try.

Contact Chief Michael A. Wiegand of the Eureka, Missouri Police Department and file a criminal fraud complaint. Make copies of the trace you did with Western Union and the e-mail exchange you had with the seller.

Then contact the Municipal Court at 120 City Hall Drive, Eureka, Missouri 63025 and ask for the papers to file a small claims action against the party.

Daphne Marler is the court clerk and she can be reached at 636-938-6600.

Hello, has anyone used the web address to post internet fraud? and is this safe?:)
If you go to the FBI site: http://www.fbi.gov/ You can click on "File an Internet Crime Complaint", this brings you to the IC3 site.

eBay scams

Hi.
I'm not a legal expert or anything, but I have had a similar experience on eBay a couple of years back. I thought I might be able to share my experience.

What I did first was (besides contacting ebay andd getting no responses) to contact the postal inspection. http://www.usps.com/postalinspectors/

I don't remember the exact #s of the days, but it does have the due date (from the day you mailed it).. so please note that.

I think others listed all the links you need. eBay has a feature to tell you the seller's contact info (which I assume you have done already) but I'm sure the phone #'s bogus. Are you the only one who bought stuff from the seller that day? In my case, the seller sold a bunch of stuff in one day then decided to just take the money and close the account. I located other buyers and used contact the member feature to contact them. Soon we were exchanging e-mails every day and we filed a claim together. To make a long story short, I got a full refund and the seller is now arrested. I know this is a lot of work but knowing that you are working with someone whose in your shoes always helps.

I hope this helps and you get your money back. Please don't give up and take whatever actions you have to take.

Texas, I have good news, all of the information that I got payed off. I received all of my money back from the seller. If any one bought from the seller ID: RASPLATTE1 from the E-bay and didn't get your stuff and she ripped you off, then contact the police department from Eureaka, Missouri.
