What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New York

I ignorantly let my 16 year old daughter sleep at a boys apartment who is 18 with her friend and another guy. I did not tell my child to go have sex. All my talks with her are don't do it, you don't know what you'll get yourself into . Well the other girl told her mother (No I did not lie for this other girl, I had no knowledge what she told her mother, she asked me to cover for her and I said absolutely not). Well the Mom told the police who told Child Protective Services. I never told my daughter to go have sex and told her I would never condone it but did put her on birth control. CPS is now investigating stating my name may be on a list for endangering the welfare of a child. I did know the boy and they were dating. I didn't know it was against the law for her to sleep there, I didn't know she was having sex with him. This was approximately 50 days ago. My daughter came home from school today and said they came to school to talk to her and she told them I was having other stressful issues so they told her that to not worry me they would call me tomorrow. Do you think I'm in trouble? I can name hundreds of couples who are the ages of 16 18+ dating and having sex. Should I report them all? Since the incident I haven't let my daughter go barely anywhere. She hates me now but that's OK. Do you think this will be unfounded? I never thought me saying it was OK for her to stay there like so many of her friends parents let their kids do was against the law and now I may lose my daughter over this? Can anyone give me any suggestions? The 60 days is about up and they have yet to speak with her father who didn't know anything about it. Only because he will not listen to anything that has to do with bad things regarding his kids. I'm so sick to my stomach right now. Don't you think if it was news that everything was going to be unfounded she would have contacted me today? I personally feel I made a major misjudgment and was neglectful of knowledge of the law and since I found out I would never make the mistake again and that is what I told the investigator at the initial investigation. The boy was arrested but his charges were dropped to two disorderly conduct charges. Do you think because they didn't want to worry me today that this is going to be a bad outcome?

You didn't tell her to have sex. You didn't know she was having sex. Yet you put her on birth control and let her spend the night at her BF's house.
:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
