What is the name of your state? Ohio
My wife and I invited our Niece to stay with us, for a few months, after she graduated school in Colombia. They finish their Sophomore year. She will be here until early August. (She want's to stay longer into next year, but not if I can help it! )
We thought about sending her to High School in our district, but don't know if it's possible. We are going to meet with the school this week. I know there are only 2 months left.
She has a tourist VISA, not an F-1 (for students).
I read that she can go if we pay the tuition equivalent (it's a public school). I don't want to do that. It's around $7000/year.
I know other families do this: live with their grandparents, live with relatives, etc. without getting legal guardianship. I've been paying taxes in this community for 8 years now and we don't have any children yet. Even illegal immigrants are allowed in schools....
Anyone know how this is done?
