What is the name of your state? New York
I bought a car in August of 2002. At that time there were things that we asked the dealer to take care of. They promised to make them right. One of the things that needed attention were to be new brakes. It took the dealership until October to put the "new" brakes on the car. After a month or so, we again contacted them that the brakes sounded funny. They checked and the brakes were never replaced. So, they put new brakes in. Then there were more sounds. Each time my husband called, it was ok, bring it in and we will check it out. Well, they never can hear the noise. The brakes are good, but we ground down rotors. The last time was April 25 and they ground down the high spots, but everything was ok. The Brakes were good!!! Well, even after leaving the shop, my husband called to say that he was still hearing the noise. They would take care of everything the week of June 16 (there are more issues not related to the brakes that need to be addressed) and go over the car with a fine tooth comb. Well, on June 6 as I was driving down the highway there was a high whistling sound. The next day as we had our winter tires taken off the garage checked the back brake. It was gone, they are metal to metal. We called the dealer today (6/9) and asked them to come and get it and fix the brakes as there are no brakes and we were not going to drive the car 60 some miles. We were told that the brakes were good on April 25 and we would be charged over $200 to come and get the car and the fix would be at our expense.
So, this is where we stand at this time. We are going local to get the brakes fixed, as we need the car to get back and forth to work and are planning on a vac. starting 6/11.
Is the dealership right in not fixing this problem? And, where do we go from here.
