What is the name of your state? Ohio

The lease does not state what happens after the 12 months are up. Can the landlord force me to leave If I choose not to renew the lease. Or can i stay on a month to month lease?

Thanks for your help

Your question relates to Ohio law. Sorry, but I am licensed in Illinois only and can NOT venture any educational suggestions on this issue.

If you keep paying rent *and L keeps accepting it*, your lease converts to a month-to-month lease. You can stay until L properly terminates the month-to-month tenancy under Ohio law. However, if L has a new tenant lined up and you aren't out of there when the lease ends, L can evict you as a holdover tenant and get all kinds of damages. You will have to determine whether to risk L rejecting the rent check and evicting you.
