What is the name of your state? NY
Please no opinions! just legal facts !!
My daughter is now thirteen, her father and i were best friends.
I was in a relationship with a woman when the three of us decided to have a child.
he was told he didnt have to be involved.
after child was born the relationship fell apart and i had to relocate from nJ back to newyork. father has always resided in CA. He by chioce has sent money after the relationship ended and continued till last month. for 13 yrs i have heard how this wasnt the agreement and then he questioned paternity and wants a test, i have no problem with that. he want the woman to take responsiblity also and every relationship since.Im not denying that he has been there financially, but now to question wether she is his, when he flew down to sign the birth certificate.I have to file for assistance now because as a single mother im not able to pay all the bills, school, clothes, food, medical & housing. He has cut support more than half. how and where do i go to get a court order and paternity and sole custody and in what order, father and i no longer talk.

If you are filing for assistance, they will make sure that you file for child support as well. Its too late for him to ask for a paternity test if he signed the Affidavit of Paternity when your child was born.
