LANDLORD RENTED HOUSE TO 2 SEPARATE TENANTS THAT IS ONLY ZONED FOR SINGLE FAMILY THAT HE RENOVATED INTO 2 UNITS WITHOUT GETTING PERMITS OR INSPECTIONS DONE. I HAVE THE HOUSING INSPECTOR INVOLVED BUT THEY WILL NOT TELL ME WHAT WILL HAPPEN, BUT DID TELL ME ON THE SLY TO START LOOKING FOR ANOTHER PLACE THAT THE HOUSE WILL NEVER PASS.

The housing inspector is full of it , ALL reports are to be public information , GO to the inspections desk OR to his supervisor and request a copy of the report if you really want one. They might charge you a fee per page to copy it BUT its still public information.

He didn't say he couldn't see the reports, the inspector said he can't disclose the pending action on the landlord other than the suggestion that it's unlikely the owner will be able to bring the property into compliance.

NJ has rather strict inspection/rules for rental units (been there, done that).

So, DROMAN, what is your question?

I am going to guess that the OP has a tiff going with the landlord and as a way of causing the LL a problem called the Housing Inspector.

From the red unhappt icon the OP used I gather that they are not thrilled that they were advised to look for another residence.

OP did not consider a rule that apply sometimes in such situaions**************.the rule of un-intended consequences....meaning that they not only stuck it to the LL, but they have stuck themselves.
