What is the name of your state? NC
I have been on the national/state do not call list for years. I've gone back to check the website for confirmation. It's there

This local painting company called me a few months ago blocked their number so i could not get it. His name was Charlie. I had just got out of law class and new he could not block his number. I called him out on it. I also Told him he should have checked the do not call list because I was on it.They don't care and they don't comply.Since they are local; blocking their number they think they could never get busted by the FCC. Told him to never call again.

Yesterday 6/20 same guy blocking his number called again wanting me to get bids on having my house painted. I knew who it was asked for a call back number and he gave me a bogus one. I looked up the number and called the company this morning and asked for him. He wasn't there. I did leave my number this time because I want him to know that I know he is violating the laws. I did file a complaint with the do not call and the fcc both times. Other than this can I personaly bring charges????? This guy thinks he doesn't have to follow rules. I wish somebody could teach him a lesson.

Good for you... I am so into putting my name on a government database.

This local painting company called me a few months ago blocked their number so i could not get it. His name was Charlie.
So you got a phone call from someone.... boo hoo. You must have thousands in damages

I had just got out of law class and new he could not block his number.
Knew what?

I called him out on it. I also Told him he should have checked the do not call list because I was on it.They don't care and they don't comply.Since they are local; blocking their number they think they could never get busted by the FCC. Told him to never call again.
I can see you were so mad you forgot how to use the space bar.

And I hate to break it to you, the FCC doesn't need caller ID...

They are a local painting company...

Yesterday 6/20 same guy blocking his number called again wanting me to get bids on having my house painted. I knew who it was asked for a call back number and he gave me a bogus one.
Oooh, I am going to give a client a wrong number...

I looked up the number and called the company this morning and asked for him. He wasn't there. I did leave my number this time because I want him to know that I know he is violating the laws.
You are spending alot of time on this. Give me your number and let me help.

I did file a complaint with the do not call and the fcc both times.
Show that painter who is not going to take it in the dinner hour...

Other than this can I personaly bring charges????? This guy thinks he doesn't have to follow rules. I wish somebody could teach him a lesson.
No. Thank god.

Why don't you spend the extra money on call announce like the deadbeat debtors do.

Or just ditch the phone. Brat.

Brat maybe, I guess I won't need to tell you all about the time I have on my hands or the car I drive. You are a know it all already.

I can see all of your student loans have gone to waste.
The point is... it's a violation and yes there are things we can do :

Information regarding the private right of action can be found in the Telemarketing and Consumer Fraud and Abuse Prevention Act located at 15 USCS 6101 et. seq. (see http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/html/uscode15/usc_sup_01_15_10_87.html
), and in the Telephone Consumer Protection Act located at 47 USCS 227 (see http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/html/uscode47/usc_sec_47_00000227----0

I guess you didn't even know that. HUH? what a waste of oxygen.

I took a law class. I'm a Mortgage broker not a lawyer. The class has everything to do with the laws that directly affect me. I never told anyone that I was going to law school. I have close friends that are lawyers and they are good people. I should have taken the time to call them instead of posting here. Don't give your profession a bad name and respect other people in theirs.

I also never said I knew it all but I'm far from stupid.

"My scholarships were not a a waste" I hope not.

Good Grief!!

Just once, it would be refreshing to read this website without somebody/anybody having to leave their smarta#@ comments in place of REAL answers! If you commentators don't have any answers to the poster's problems, just keep your "that's gonna leave a mark" comments to yourself. People come to this website for help! It doesn't matter what anyone thinks of their questions, a lot of these poster's don't have anywhere else to go. It would be nice for some of you to keep that in mind before commenting.

I'm wondering if Anonymous Call Rejection would have helped in this case, if available.

Please overlook all the crap here!

ces06, you'll have to overlook alot of the crap on this website. It is amazing how some people just can't help themselves from giving their "opinions" when not asked for or wanted. Try not to judge the whole website on just this experience. Some people actually do want to help others find answers. Hang in there.
