Would you know of perhaps 2 or 3 states where there is no waiting. One spouse is against the divorse and there is almost no community property.Georgia was the state where the couple resided.thanks DDoll

My response:

No such thing in the United States. Each State has it's own rules and laws concerning residency requirements before you can file for a dissolution of marriage. Some States have shorter requirements than others, but nonetheless, and no matter how long or short, you still have to live in that State for the required period of time.

It doesn't matter, in any State, whether one spouse is "against the divorce". As long as one of the spouses wants a divorce, it will happen.

The days of "agreeing to a divorce" ended in the middle 1960's.
