Non-Compete Agreement

We have a very specialized chiropractic wellness clinic in Littleton, Colorado. The clinic has a large functional fitness gym attached to it, and the office treats brain functions, intense laser therapy, spinal and cervical decompression. The owner is a 20 year experienced doctor who has treated over 100 pro athletes. All of that said, we trained a young student at the end of last year during his internship. He graduated in December from a Florida chiropractic school and now wants to work and build his practice in our office. However, this new doctor does not want to sign a non-complete agreement of a 7 mile radius. His comment is that it is too broad, saying it is a total of 14 miles and that is not within reason in the Littleton metro area. Can you please advise me if our contract is reasonable. Thank you, Mitzi

Your request is really beyond the scope of an internet forum. I would suggest that you have the agreement reviewed by a local attorney. Furthermore, even if it IS reasonable, it's still negotiable.
