i live in mississippi. my ex-boyfriend and i had a child togeather who is now 5 years old. neither one of us have custody of her yet, we are waiting to go to court. our child was living with me and i was letting her father and his family come and get her and spend time with her. one day when the babysitter came to pick her up the father grabed her from the babysitter and took off. we live in the same town, but he will not let me come see her or take her anywhere. when our daughter goes to spend the weekend with his father i go and see her, but i can not be alone with her. i need to know what i can do to see my daughter with out being supervised.

you need to contact the police in your town and have them escort you to his house and take your child back. since you are not married you have more rights than he does. fight back!

I will have to disagree on this, if there was never any custody established the father has just as many rights to the child as the mother does, regardless if they were never married. The police will not involve themselves unless the mother shows legal documents that she is the custodial parent. To fight back she will have to petition the courts for custody.
