ME. I am a Canadian who married in Florida last year but has been separated for over 9 months. I am illegal because we never filed for my residence status and I have been told that I am unable to file for a divorce because I am not a resident. My husband is in Florida and has told me I can pay $500.00 for an uncontested divorce and he will pay nothing because I want it. We have a year old child who was born outside the U.S and he pays very little in support and I am unable to work. What are my rights if any?
