i reside in Pennsylvania. Ex-boyfriend of 12 years has custody of our two sons ages 11 & 8. there is a court order that states he is not to use alcohol in the prescence of the children. my sons tell me he does drink when they are with him and i have witnessed him being intoxicated when i have picked them up from his home. i have seen a bar in his basement through the window and he also has a tap system which he told the judge he no longer has. I want to know if i have the right to call the police and report this when i know he is defying the court order and does the police have to do something about it if they find him intoxicated with the children present?

Unless you feel your children are in immediate danger, calling the police won't help. You need to file a motion for contempt. If he is drinking in front of the children and the court order specifically forbids him from doing that, then he is in contempt. Your kids work will probably have little bearing, however, so try to gather as much evidence of his drinking as you can. But just proving he has a bar in the house doesn't prove that he drinks around the kids.
