What is the name of your state?

Hello. Its been over a year since I was convicted of my dui in las Vegas Nevada. I was using my Michigan drivers license at the time. I now live in las vegas. I havent renewed my drivers license yet. But I was wondering what is going to happen when I do? I was going to go back to michigan but is there a way to find out if I would get my license or not before I go? Was reading some way that you can block information being received somehow by the home state. Idk how long the message take to get relayed back home. Thanks for all your help.

You have no option to stop information, it goes or it doesn't based on the states agreements with each other.

What was the disposition of the DUI? Was your license suspended? Were driving privileges in NV removed? Did you do whatever you have to do to reinstate these?

You do know that you are further breaking the law by using your old license when you live in Nevada?

You need to fix this before they pull you over for something and string you up for driving while suspended.

You stated that it has been over 1 year since the conviction. Most cases, you are clear to get your license. If you did not have your license revoked for a longer period of time you are good to go.

The last poster had a good point, being that you have been living in LV you are required by NV law to get your license switched within 30days of taking up residency. However, I lived in LV for 4 years and never changed mine - and received several tickets for stupid stuff - and didn't have any issues.

Las Vegas is largely a transient town and they normally don't question an out of state license.

Just go to motor vehicles and get your NV license if you have complied with all conditions of the court, you will be alright. Just don't tell anyone you have lived there for more than a month... if they ask.

Thanks for your help. My license was revoked for 6 or 8 months after getting my dui. After that I started driving again using my michigan license. I have one more question if you would help me with. I am currently insured under my parents and haven't gotten my sr-22 yet. When I get my license for Nevada will I have file or what ever the process is to have sr-22 or is it just to get a license and that is it? Because I want to put off my sr-22 for a few months if at all possible. Thanks again for all your help.
