my mom sold her house 7 months ago, she sold her furniture to the people who bought the house, they never paid, so she took them to court, they turned around and sued her for taking plants, light fixtures, ceiling fans, and an air conditioner. it was a lie . the judge awarded them 1,600.00. my mom filed for slow pay. when we went to court, the plantiff's lawyer said we were not in the docket, and he would call to make payment arrangements. instead we were told to come back to court. and they appealed the 1,600.00 and went for 4,448.00 and won. so far my mom has proof that the couple has been foreclosed on, they gave the "missing plants" to their next door neighbor, and their lawyer lied about not being in the docket that day. he moved it to another court day so he could figure out how to get more money for the couple because they were behind on their house payment. which was a total of 4,448.00. Does my mom have a case, and if so , what can she sue for? she just wants the money she has paid to them so far . keep in mind these people had never made one house payment for the 7 months they lived there, so to our knowledge they sued my mom for house payment money, and lied about the missing objects.
