What is the name of your state?Ohio. I was born in 1965 and adopted at 6 months of age. My family will not or does not have any viable info regarding my adoption. Things I hear does not fall in place. Anyway, I did contact probate office by sending them $50.00 to get unidentifing info on both parents. At that time they were both alive so no other info could be released until they are both deceased. This was a private adoption to the best of my knowledge. I contacted the hospital I was born at, they claim there is no record of my birth. I checked at the library and The Historical Society Records. I cannot even find a newspaper clipping of my birth. I at least thought that it would be available since I was not being considered for adoption until later after birth. I do have 2 sisters somewhere and would like to find someone I am blood related to. I have no medical background info and wish there was some way I could find bio-family because of health related problems that may be passed on to my children. I checked with the doctor who care for me as a child, but he does not have any records pertaining to my health before adoption. Or at least he says he doesn't. Also, I am curious as to whether the d.o.b. can be amended on b.c. Like I said earlier, somethings don't add up, and I believe I could be a few months older than my b.c. says, or my family is still lying to me!!! I signed up with adoption finders - costly - but nothing turned up. I had a few last names thrown out to me by family members but nothing came up. I stopped the search, just feeling that it's not meant for me to find my bio-family. I still wish I could find someone, even if my bio-parents are deceased. I plan to try back with the probate court again in hopes of some new developments. If you have any info that could help out here and lift my spirits to search again, I would appreciate it. It's not easy trying to find someone with so little info!!

Dear, if your bio mom was planning to have you adopted, she would NOT have submitted a birth announcement to the newpaper. Out of wedlock births were still hushed up and hidden in many communities back in the 60s. Not open like today. The birth date is not changed on the adoptuon birth certificate, only the parent names, so age would not have been changed.

What all do you think they know beyond what they have shared with you? The days of birth moms meeting with adiptive families are recent. In the 60's it was pretty "arm's length" in most cases..
