My response:

When it comes to "big ticket" items like homes and cars, you should never do anything without an attorney on your side, watching step-by-step. Your local Family Law attorney will, for a relatively small fee, give you the proper guidence and prepare the paperwork involved for your protection.

When you really think about it, seeing your own local attorney is cheap insurance for your financial protection.
