What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Maryland
I bougt a car in May (without MD inspection) that was previously registered in virginia. I had a machanic look at the vehicle and did a carfax report, it was clean. We were assured that the car was well taken care of, kept in a garage, and in "great" condition minus the air conditionar wasn't working, (It turns out it only need coolant). I signed nothing saying "as is." I registered the car, got temporary tags, and took did a MD inspection. The repair shop told me that the car had been in a major accident and it seems that they fixed the car by replacing half the car and welding it together (very poor repair job). Since it passed inspection, after some minor repairs, I thought it would be ok. It rained the day after I brought it home. The car was flooded from the trunck to the cabin. If I'm driving in the rain, I get rained on inside the car. The seller is saying that the car is as-is. That doesn't apply to wrecked vehicles, does it? I heard on the radio that in virginia a seller must disclose damage for flooding if it costs over $1000. My cost is well over that. Is anyone familiar with that law, do I have any recourse?
Thanks.
