I had worked as a On Site Manager which was ran by a Management company but funded through the USDA consdiered Low-Income Housing for 13 months. Was always praised by peers & Boss.I was given a stellar review in Sept. with a 4% raise. In Oct I was notified the day of: That I would have a New Property Manager.I Was a bit suprised that I was never made aware of this change in management proior then the day that it took place. Even though I didn't want to lose my old Boss I went into it with a good aditude. After just 15 day under the new manager I quit because she was making it impossiblefor me to do my job duties and rather then it reflect badly on me I decided it would be better to quit. On Nov 7th I made the property manager Aware that the new site manager she hired had a criminal background with a harrassment order that was being enforced other charges that she was charged with are DWI,Child endangerment,5th Degree Assult, Domestic Assult. Her first court apperance is Dec 27th. You can imaging my suprise when she and I quote "I know all about her past." and hung-up on me.. On Nov 9th 2 day after I had went to her with the information she came to my home to pick up all of the tenant files and all other documents regarding employment
(i.e.) Invoices,Reciepts,Forms,estimates. Directly after I handed her these things she handed me a Lease Termination that reads this is your 30 day notice to vacate no later than Noon on Dec 31st. She states she is still aware that I have keys for the property & washing machines. She also states that there has been no laundry income since Feb of 2004. She states that they terminated my employment. She also accuses me of going into a vacant unit to get some parts.She demands that I turn over the keys to the new site-manager. She states that my Nov. rent had not yet been recieved and it I didn't pay it within 48 hours she would seek judicial action to evict me. The company alway took my rent out of my pay checks. It should have been paided for Nov. I ended up paying it anyways. I recieved by mail on Dec 8th another letter with 8 or 9 lease violations. (ALL FALSE)Will go into detail if you contact me.
She states that nothing has changed and enclosed a Intent to Vacate Form saying that I needed to schdule a final walk-thru on Dec 31 no later than noon. Ok I believe that she has taken these actions because of me making her aware of Site-managers background she is trying to get ride of me instead of taking responseabilty for her mistake of hiring a criminal. I have sense had to get my own harrassment order of both the Site Man. & Property Man. I went to my old property manager after I recieved the first letter and asked her if she new what i was being accussed of she sounded shocked and suprised. I told her about the information I had given to her and she said that she couldn't be employed if she had a criminal background she also told me that what she was doing in regards to the eviction was Illegal. I have allot of supporting documents that prove the violation she accussing be of are false. From what I have learned in this short time of doing research to learn my rights as well as whats needed to file a law suit.. I think I have enough evidence but of course I'm not a lawyer I would really appreciate some help with this one I am a struggling Mother with 3 kids that I am raising alone because of the death of thier father two yrs ago.. I am still unemployed because I have devoted all my time and energy into this.. I don't have any extra money and I have contacted our legal aid resources and can't even get them to call me back.. If some one out thier could contact me I could go more in-depth about the whole thing. Would like to know if I really do have enough evidence to persue a law suit..
